Open Borders 12" Plate Each plate is made from seperate pieces of glass that are first hand cut, layed together and fired to 1500 degrees. The process allows the pieces to melt together to become one piece. Once the piece is finished it is put through an annealing process where the plate cools over a long period of time.   The next step is to give the plate it shape, which is called slumping.
